What your truck needs

Most failed pickups come down to the wrong ball or no brake controller. Check these four things and your pickup takes ten minutes.

  • 2-5/16 in hitch ball on a rated mountAll three trailers use a 2-5/16 in coupler. A 2 in ball will not latch. Class III or IV receiver.
  • 7-way round trailer plugRuns the lights and electric brakes. A 4-flat adapter is not enough.
  • Electric brake controllerRequired by Iowa law for trailers over 3,000 lb, which is every trailer we rent.
  • Tow rating for the loaded weightCheck your door jamb sticker or owner's manual against the trailer's GVWR.

Common questions

Quick answers

Do I need a special license to tow these trailers?

No. A standard Iowa Class C license covers every trailer we rent when towed by a pickup or SUV. You must be 21 or older with a valid license and your own auto insurance.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. We place a $250 hold on a credit or debit card at pickup and release it the same day the trailer comes back clean and undamaged.

How does a weekend rental work?

Pick up Friday after 3 pm and return Monday before 9 am for the weekend rate. That covers the whole weekend for the price of about two and a half days.

Can I keep the trailer longer than I booked?

Usually, yes. Text us before your return time and we will extend it at the daily rate if the trailer is not booked behind you.
